The following link was previously posted in Forum Rules! but I think it deserves its own thread. It deals with the manufacture and sale of high fronted guttering since the 1990s that was not compliant with plumbing regulations when fitted with the manufacturer's supplied brackets, the widespread failure of plumbers to recognise non compliance and the reluctance of various government departments and regulators to act once informed of the situation. With houses changing hands every 7 years on average, this has left tens of thousands of homeowners unaware of massive damage bills they may soon be facing. It is already too late for some.

Unfortunately, there are many other non compliant products still being (legally) sold by thousands of stores throughout Australia and regulatory authorities, particularly plumbing, are rarely willing to circulate warnings to tradesmen in regard to the installation and the naming of non compliant products.
In the water harvesting industry, dodgy plumbing is common.
