Glass shower screen surface treated to avoid marking and for easy cleaning

Memberwe stayed with some friends in Germany recently and they had a rubber edged glass scraper that they used to quickly clean the shower screen glass.

I have heard mixed reports about the shower screen surface treatment. Some say it's excellent, some say a waste of money.I do know that using shower gel, as opposed to soap, leaves less marks on the glass.
