Today is the 21st. June 2010. I remember well what took place on the 21st. - 22nd. June 2002 whereby major baseload power generators 'created' a market for themselves in relieving from our pockets huge slabs of dollars from the fact that not enough electricity was being produced against the demand sending the cost of elect. from a std. say AUD$35/40/MW(h) to a ceiling of what Nemmco set in 2002 of AUD$10,000/MW(h).
The highest were two power generators in both NSW and QLD where during a frenzed 1.5hr. trading 'spree', one earned for its owner (state Govt.) a staggering AUD$21.5 million and the other (state Govt.) AUD$22 million.
It seems that this rote is taking place as of this period leading up to the end of the fin. yr. as told to me from somebody in the know today.

The current set ceiling of AUD$10,000/MW(h) has been in existance since 1998.
