Me would also like to know
- just to refresh the topic.
I had a chat to a reseller of greendland systems today and he made it quite plausible why they are more expensive, but any kind of review of a working system would be greatly aprreciiated.
Thanks - Robert.

Their website is bloody annoying!
If I recall correctly, we have discussed this crowd before. I remember making a comment that I don't overly trust a mob that can't update their site, who make unsubstantiated claims and falsely belittle their competitors.
Their latest news is mid 2008 and early 2009, which is very odd in this age of technologial advancement of SHW systems! Further, their early 2009 "latest news" deliberately misleads the public by claiming the SHW rebate is $1600. Most genuine retailers are very quick to update their sites when the Gov'ts change rebate policy, but not his mob, who are currently almost a year and a half out of date!
As for their statements.......I can't find any reference to independent testing to back up their claims, but eclipsing that is their comparision to "other varieties" of solar collectors where they make the statement that most other solar collectors cannot deliver any heat at all during winter and cold overcast days! We know that claim to be crap, so how much of their spiel can we believe?
Yes, I'd like an independant report on their system as well.

Also, on this page of theirs http://www.greenlandsystems.com.au/specifications.html , what does the graph represent? They have the months of the year across the bottom and 0-100 up the side. I'm assuming the 0-100 is hot water temp (??), but why is it peaking in mid winter?? What am I missing? Or is it that they have just "lifted" a European/Nth American graph and have been too lazy to adjust it, or do genuine Australian testing?
I'm wary of this lot, but I'd love to hear from anyone who've tested their system. Robert, how much more expensive are they, and what are their plausible reasons for it?

just check their website. Not bad products description.
They use longer vacuum tubes(1.75meter & 2meters) for their solar collector. But actually, 58x1800mm vacuum tube is the most popular vacuum tube.
if your tube broken, you could get 58x1800mm replaced tubes easily from many supplier. But if 70x1750mm or 100x2000mm tubes, you maybe need wait more time to get them.
Just a suggestion.
Solar Water Heater is one mature technology. Not need to worry about too much.
Thanks

I have had a Greenland Systems Solar Hot Water System on my roof for over 2 months now and I am extremely happy.I am located in Mount Gambier South Australia where it is just awful in the winter. Honestly what can go wrong with the system??? The tubes are guaranteed to keep their vacuum to 12 years and have passed the 35mm hail test!!! The Greenlands Solar Controller is the lastest technology and handles things like overheating by shifting water through the manifold. Frosts are not a problem either because they tell me this system works in the snow fields in Europe.Just do you homework -ask lots of questions. The power output of the tubes I have is amazing and that is why you do not need more than 16. I was told the Greenlands system has been about for 20 years under the name Sunda -so no need to suspicious!!! Oh and if a tube breaks I can have one straight away from their Head Office. The system keeps working even if one is broken so no stress -and I can do it myself -don't need a plumber

Oh forgot to mention I was in Warranmbool(very cold place) and went to look at houses open at Home Sustainable Day on Sunday and a lady who had her house open had the Greenland System on her roof which was gas boosted and she told us that her bill for her last quarter which was winter was only $27 and the only other thing she uses gas for is her hot plates. She also was extremely happy and was singing the Greenland System and Australian Sun Energy their agent praises.....
