   Hi all. Am investigating various high COP heat pumps and it seems that all of them use a remote control with very simple program features (ie. one program only). Is this right? If so, do any manufacturers allow for more sophisticated programming? What I would like, at a minimum, is the ability to program two on/off times, one for morning, one for evening.

   Is it possible to use more sophisticated programmable thermostats such as those made by the likes of Honeywell?

   Doing some more Googling, it does seem as though some manufacturers (Mitsubishi, Daikin) do indeed make 7-day programmable timers for their heat pumps. Still interested in any additional detail that others have to share.

   My information is anecdotal only. I understand that with Daikin the remote control sends the entire suite of settings (including the time) each time you press a button on the remote control. That means it is not possible to load the remote codes into a programable remote or easily control a Daikin from a control system such as AMX, Crestron or Control4 is problematic. For this reason the other premium brand, Fujitsu, is preferred by integrators (the people who automate houses and combine audiovisual and other systems).
