I read the thread. Several objections are mentioned later by another poster. I would imagine that any aerobic system with electrical pumps would have a similar vulnerability not unique to Biolytix. Note that the control box is located on top of the unit so the entire system would have to under water for it to short out. The main sump pump is a SUMO submersible pump that sits at the bottom of the tank.
It was pointed out that if the worms die, undigested solids may block the filtering mechanism and prevent water percolating to the bottom and being pumped out. I guess that regular inspection via the inspection hatch may alert you to problems earlier
Most of the parts of the Biolytix can be replaced - the submersible pump being most expensive. Someone mentioned $75/kg of worms from eco valley worms.
My biggest concern is if the electronics fail which automates when the sump needs to get emptied. I don't want to be doing this manually each day.
