Hi guys,
Have done a recent house addition and am popping my insulation in the ceiling at the moment. Unfortunately I didn't get the recessed LED downlights where the insulation can go over the top. The downlights I have are CA80 rated and cannot be covered with insulations but the insulation but may 'abut' the sides of the downlight. I just don't feel comfortable butting the insulation up against the downlight or is this not going to be a problem?
Possible options include buying some cheap terracotta pots from Bunnings that have a small draining hole on the bottom (act as a vent) and putting them over each downlight or even a short length of pvc pipe. I plan to fix the driver to the top edge of the truss bottom chord.
Anyone have some experience with this and provide some info or advice?
Thanks in advance
Dale
