I had previously been advised that the Feed-in Tariff is an agreement with the home owner, and when they move house they can't take the agreed FiT with them. Also consequently, the new owners of the old house with the grid-connected solar system will not be eligible for any FiT.
However our State government website says the following which contradicts my understanding. Can anyone confirm with way it works (in SA at least):
The solar feed-in tariff you receive is associated with your specific system and address. You cannot move the solar feed-in tariff you receive at your current address to your new address. When you move, the tariff will become available to the new occupant of the home, up to the original SA Power Networks approved peak capacity and assuming the new occupants meet the eligibility criteria.
If you move to an address that has an existing solar PV system, you may be eligible to receive any feed-in tariff applicable to the solar PV system at your new address. To enquire about your eligibility for the feed-in tariff of your new address, contact SA Power Networks on 1300 665 913 or seg@sapowernetworks.com.au
