Hi Folks,
Last week I got my ABSA accredation. I am trying to book some bookings but DEHWA call center is having some problems. Does any one know any other way of book assessments?
or they are just not picking my call:-)
Also I got an email regarding how to order material from DEHWA but that email doesn't say anything who i need to send this request (email address)?

Most recent eNews from DEWHA states that all "materials" except Workbooks are no loinger available as they've run out of stock and are not renewing supply.
The pdf Calculator doc they shold have emailed you is 75pp long and most of it is blank space.
There is a thread on the ABSA Forum, which your email and HO number will login to, that lists a few typed up alternatioves that others have made.
Use these for preference as they use a tenth of the paper, or use the Online/Offline version on a laptop or tablet.

When did you send your application into ABSA? I'm one of those caught up in the whole debacle and unemployed as a result. I'm still waiting for my accreditation and it seems there won't be any work when I do finally get it!!

Most of the problems are getting hold of a booking number without which you won't get paid as it would seem that some 5000 other assessors are calling up each day to book assessments. Most people have a few goes and then give up as then they don't even get the welcome message.
My last call to the hotline I was on hold for 73 minutes for a 2 minute call - to enable the portal only to find I couldn't do anything.
I also heard your limited to 5 bookings per call...
You can't actually do anything on the portal which a complete joke, apart from list the areas and times you can service!

I think in the very least, all assessors should be able to do a pro-rata claim back of their ABSA membership fees and insurance fees.
The insurance part should be easy enough, but ABSA should in good faith allow those people that are claiming back (part of) their membership fees for their actual membership to be held in suspension and be able to be re-instated easily once (if) this mess is cleaned up.
Plus if the enquiry finds that any training organisations acted inproperly and the person trained has no chance of recouping that expense, then that training organisation should be made to return those training fees.
Let's not forget there's even more expenses that many HSAs have suffered, including time off work to be trained and even walking out on existing jobs to try to be part of what was always meant to be an environment-focussed program and career.
People who underwent HSA accreditation should not bare the financial loss of this mess while the insurance companies, training providers, and of course ABSA retain what is a MASSIVE windfall.

Ive posted here a few days ago ( Is the green loans going to run out) the details of a mob who are considering class action and are looking for anybody wanting to join in. Maybe this is a vechile to re-coup some expenses.

When is it going to run out? No-one knows, not even DEWHA!
Best guess? Somewhere between this week and end of May.
According to figures taken from recent DEWHA or Ministerial publications, and the revelations of the Senates Estimates on Tuesday, 142,800 assessments have been completed.
Extrapolating from the difference between what they said one week and what they said two weeks later, approx 1100 assessments are being completed every day - at the moment!!
Currently there are 3500 assessors actively working, about 1500 or so not really doing much, and 5000 who are yet to be accredited.
So if those figures carry over, then 7000 assessors will soon be attempting to perform 2200 assessments per day.
Based on the most recent Minsterial figure of 142,800 we have about 220,000 to go, at the rate of 2200 per day, that's about 100 days. Or a about 14 weeks.
Ergo, end of May.
BUT!!! If FF gets a few hundred more assessors working (with 380 they are currently covering 30% of bookings); and IF the Call Centre can be made to work to process that number of calls, and IF the system hangs together,
then maybe the situation will resolve this way.

If anyone knows any way to get booking numbers I'd like to hear it. I haven't been able to get one for 2 weeks - have assessments booked (and some done) but no way of getting paid for them.
If you are recently accredited and don't want to do cr@p work - 5 to 7 'quick and dirty' assessments a day for 30 to 50% of the fees paid by the government, working through one of these shonky call-centre driven companies that care for nothing except making money - you haven't got a prayer of getting enough work to even cover your costs.
Personally I value what a good home sustainability assessment can do and spend hours with every household to help them really achieve something. I'm getting great 'word of mouth' bookings, but haven't been paid this year.
I'd love to hear of a class action - against the government, ABSA, FF and a few other companies whose ineptitude and greed have variously destroyed this program.

Last Monday (the 8th of Febr.) I dialled from 8:58 to 15:48 - something between 300 and 500 times - and got nowhere!
This Friday, after around 100 attempts throughout the day, I finally got into the holding loop at around 15:00, and booked my appointments at around 16:20...

We tried an auto dialer and made 3400 calls over two hours. 56 calls got through and all of them dropped out. Outrageous !
So since then we have found a way to get through but it is costing us quite a few $$$. It seems there are some companies that have access while the little guys are being forgotten.
If you are having problems and want to explore another option give me a call on 1300459938. Yes there is a call centre involved but our company is here for the long run and respect every house that we go into. Its a bad situation but being busy is someones home is better than tearing your hair out on the phone.
