Hi, this is my first post on the forum but I'm sure many more will follow. We are about to build a sustainable house in North east Victoria. We have 2 acres with it's own spring and a sloping block with some permanent wetlands fed by the spring. I'm keen on the idea of a reed bed grey and maybe black water treatment system. Does anybody know of anyone in North east Victoria with experience in building these? We'll still be living in Melbourne and I have no DIY skills whatsoever so doing it myself isn't really an option.

If you are still in Melbourne go to Ceres, they may be able to help you. And there is a reed bed filter thing nearby if you walk upstream on the bicycle track

I found some info on reed bed stuff on a forum for freshwater turtles. Obviously they are different as they treat the water and waste from fish and turtles but the principle would still be the same. You may find some info on Australian freshwater turtles dot com dot au.

I'm looking for somebody or a company that can build me one. The closest place I've found is Lismore NSW!

sorry, did not see that. Well, this could be your first project then. Bought a mitre saw. One day come home from work, wifey had all the skirting boards cut without ever doing it before. No finger missing.
