Hi thought I would start this off since I am still trying to sort out the boiler .
What would I have to do to build a house with minimal or no heating in Tasmania? Would it be possible, would it be cost effective?
Any ideas?
Cheers

Hi Lorri,
My doco 'A Modern Build Tasmania' features a Passive Solar house
The key is to keep it air tight as much as possible ...
Have a northerly aspect with at least double glazed windows
and a good passive heat bank ... insulated slab .. solid rock bench
Yes you could definitely do it with reasonably low cost ...source second hand materials where possibel

Thanks Alex, pity I am overseas or I would go see your film.
Cheers
Lorri
In addition, use reverse masonry veneer so the outer shell can be heavily insulated, and the inner skin is then the heatbank.
