   What about building an alternative land vehicle that would use the steam turbine generator to power it to the coast, then re-purposing a boat of some kind to get across the Pacific carrying said land vehicle then driving to the final destination?

   You could sell steam turbine produced power along the way to finance the trip!

   Sorry Axess, but I have to get this out of my system. This new word, re-purposing, that has emerged in the last few years just makes me want to go and thump someone.
