Im looking at building a 2 bedroom weekender/cottage on my 10 acre block south of Ballarat, been looking at 2 bed room kit and granny flat designs, all seem to be based on 8to10 squares with wood floor and stumps, not many designs seem to be well suited for slab floor and with well insulated walls and double glased windows,at $11-12 thousand per square built.
I got a north facing aspect for the house, got 20 metres of free space around the planed spot for the house, good view of the north sky and east and west.
looking for ideas for a built design, with good thermal propites, well insulsted (extra aircell double foil on roof and walls with ployester bulk inslation for walls and ceiling), colourbond zincalume external cladding, slab floor covered with cerimic tiles, veranadahs on north and south sides, double glased windows, no windows on west side, small window on the east side.
Can it be built say for $12-13 thousand a square in the Ballarat area?? would love to hear any comments of owners who have built a good thermal and energy design 2 bed room weekender.
Regards
