As a member of the Building Designers Association I get automatic subscription to heaps of magazines, most of which get one scim through if that. They stack up and generally don't get recycled because they have interesting features or supplier advertisements.
Recently the excellent 'Timber Design' magazine started coming by email as a pdf file. It saves the publisher money and me space, it won't get dusty, and I'll be able to find it immediately.
Shouldn't there be the OPTION for ReNew or Sanctuary to be available in electronic form as well as the paper magazines? I'd be happy to pay the same subscription, we're paying for the content not the paper.
Of course there is the risk of multiple file sharing slightly lowering uptake, because a paper magazine can only be in one place at a time.
I suggest that anyone who reads the magazines and doesn't subscribe probably wouldn't have subscribed anyway, so it's not really a loss - just a slightly better informed general public.
Great to see the ATA page on Facebook too - some of the interested people are 'friends' from overseas and are prime candidates for E-subscriptions.
