I want to build a system soon and want to have at least 1000 watts worth of power, so 200X6 panels.
From what I reads and watch on the youtubes, you take all the positive and negative wires and connect them together separately and then you connect them to the positive negative inputs on the charge controller, what method to go to a single cable for each positive and negative wires to connect to the charge controller is best ?
Just new to solar and just trying to understand.
John,
You seem like an enthusiastic person who is keen to have a go and would like to do it all yourself. I mean no disrespect when I say that you seem to have been going around in circles for the past 12 months due to a lack of understanding of the basics of electricity. This isn't meant as a criticism. We all lack basic understanding in many areas. Unless you can answer all of Johnmath's questions, understand why he asks them, and then understand his responses based on your answers, you are very likely to make some expensive or dangerous mistakes; or simply just waste a lot of effort and be disappointed in the results.
My advice would be to use this forum to get recommendations for off-grid experts in your area; people with whom you can have a face to face chat.
Beware of YouTube and Google. Unless you have a basic understanding of the concepts involved, you're not in a position to separate the wheat from the chaff - and there is an awful lot of chaff. YouTube in particular can easily mislead. Just because you see something being demonstrated, doesn't mean it's real. There are plenty of YouTube clips that 'prove' perpetual motion, for example.
You really need to talk to an expert, face to face, and work with them to design the system you need. This may cost you a fee; it may not.
So see if anyone can recommend someone in your area.
