Hi,
I am a member of of a small group restarting a local Greens group in the NSW Great Lakes area called the Myall Lakes Greens.
At our last meeting we decided to hold a public forum on a locally important issue and renewable energy was chosen as we have seen the uptake here by households of quite a few solar PV installations and there are a few local businesses here doing these installations.
We have approached the local bowling club for use as a venue and also asked them if they have someone who would like to speak about their own experience having a large solar PV array installed on the clubs roof.
We have also asked Greens MP John Kaye to speak, as his portfolio includes energy and water and he is very knowledgeable in this field.
We are wondering if there might be someone who is a member of the ATA who might like to
also give a short talk?
Not sure if there are any members up this way or if someone further afield might like to travel up to Forster to do it perhaps?
I have also sent an email to Craig Gleeson from Innovation ReCreation and am awaiting a reply. I think he may be a member, I'm not sure. http://www.innovationrecreation.com.au/
Craig mentioned to me a few years ago that there was an area here which would be ideal for community wind generation and has donated a vertical axis streetlight to our council for use and testing in a park in Tuncurry.
The forum is to be held on Sunday 16/11/14 from 2pm to 4pm at the Forster Bowling Club.
Any offers or ideas much appreciated!
Thanks!
Eric Oppel
