Hi all,
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up regarding the Merlin Hot water unit which was advertised in the latest issue of Renew - Products on page 17.
The Merlin Gas Hot Water unit is only sold in Western Australia. And it is an equivalent star rating of 5.4 stars (6 Stars under the new rating system).
I was disappointed to say the least. Can anyone recommend an Australian-made 6 star gas instantaneous hot water unit?

Please be careful with WA instantaneous water heaters, some years ago we had one I cannot recall the brand name. We had no end of problems not because the heater was not good quality, but that it was designed for WA which does not have very cold winters. The problems we had with the heater all related to the heat partially freezing and damaging itself and leaking.
We followed the advice of a local plumber and installed it outside our house and every winter had problems.
